Deloitte said the $25 billion investment figure assumes a baseline scenario in which U.S. 4G deployment proceeds at a moderate pace and the transition from 3G to 4G networks extends to the middle of the decade. The firm said that under these conditions, U.S. companies will be vulnerable to losing out to foreign competitors who aggressively deploy 4G networks abroad.

On the other hand, the $53 billion figure at the high end of the invest scale assumes a scenario in which U.S. carriers invest more rapidly in 4G networks, before foreign competitors gain market traction. Deloitte said the demand stimulated by new 4G offerings would justify more network investment and will lead to a “virtuous cycle” of growth and investment.

Deloitte said rapid 4G adoption could help catalyze growth in cloud computing. Additionally, 4G adoption will help minority groups, rural communities and localities with limited access to full broadband connectivity, as well as some small businesses.

Verizon Wireless’ (NYSE:VZ) LTE network now covers more than half of the U.S. population, and Verizon expects to cover its entire 3G footprint with LTE by the end of 2013. Verizon’s LTE deployment is the world’s most aggressive, but AT&T Mobility (NYSE:T) plans to catch up quickly. AT&T is poised to launch its LTE network later this summer in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. The company expects to deploy LTE across 70 million POPs in 15 markets by year-end, and also plans to complete its LTE deployment by the end of 2013. Part of AT&T’s proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA will involve AT&T using T-Mobile’s 1700 MHz AWS spectrum to deploy LTE.

Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S), meanwhile, continues to resell Clearwire’s (NASDAQ:CLWR) mobile WiMAX service under the Sprint 4G brand in 71 markets. Clearwire’s network covers around 130 million POPs.

Skype WiFi – now available on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

Apple

Internet Services

iPad

iPhone

iPod

News

internet for travelers

iPad or iPod Touch

Skype Access

Skype internet

Skype Wifi

Skype WiFi - now available on iPhone

Skype WiFi app

Skype WiFi iOS
<guid

The operator has yet to launch LTE services but plans to roll out networks in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio later this year. By the end of 2011, AT&T intends to expand LTE services to 15 markets, which it says will cover 70 million Americans. Customers outside the 4G coverage area will default to the HSPA+ network.

AT&T will be selling the USBConnect Momentum 4G modem and the AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G. The devices will be available for $49.99 and $69.99, respectively, with a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. The operator plans to charge $50 per month for 5GB and $10 for each additional gigabyte that goes over that allotment. This pricing is similar to AT&T’s current pricing on its HSPA+ network. On Aug. 26, AT&T will also upgrade the HSPA+ USBConnect Adrenaline to LTE via an over-the-air update.

Verizon (NYSE: VZ), meanwhile, now has LTE service live in more than 100 markets and will expand to 175 markets covering 185 million POPs by year-end. Verizon charges $30 for 2GB, $50 for 5GB and $80 for 10GB on its LTE network, for both data-only devices and smartphones. Verizon sold 1.2 million LTE devices in the second quarter, up from 500,000 in the first quarter.

Mozilla Prepping Mobile Operating System for the Web

Internet Services

firefox for mobile

mozilla for mobile

mozilla operating system for mobile

The internet browser maker Mozilla is all set to introduce Mobile operating system for the web. Firefox Mozilla occupied the top browser application unit even after being released late in the competitive segment. The mobile OS platform from Mozilla is expected to rock the world by the end of 2011. The end users can expect a faster browser for their mobile devices to go with and the application will be free for both Android and iOS users. The social integration touch points will also be enabled on the browser platform to boost the overall usability on the go at all times.

Mobile OS segment is already competitive with the prevailing presence of Android and iOS. The end users can expect an integrated and adjusted solution to meet the business contingencies of the users. Mozilla’s mobile platform is being mainly proposed to scoot up the overall valuation of the company too.

Therefore, stay glued and look to mint from the best breed real time mobile browsing possibilities at all times. The streamlined mobile OS from Mozilla will essentially be backed by a dedicated app store and who knows that the OS supremacy witnesses another chapter after the long over launch of Android OS.

Qubee now becomes the second to offer 1.5Mbps Wimax broadband in Pakistan, earlier Wi-tribe was offering the same speed.

With the name of Venture Max, Qubee now introduces, though apparently, unlimited 1.5Mbps at same price as Wi-Tribe is offering.

Charges:

Monthly Charges of Rs. 2400

Security deposit of Rs. 3200 (refundable)

Total upfront charges for new connection:

Wifi Modem: Rs. 4700

Indoor Shuttle: Rs. 4200

As per Qubee, the package is unlimited as Qubee says:

The unlimited packages have no cap on the amount a customer downloads. However, the customer bandwidth may be subjected to a higher contention

But while talking to a Qubee representative, he told that this package is unlimited in the sense that if you corss the monthly cap of 40GB, you will still be able to use the internet but the connection speed will be limited to 64Kbps for that month. Once the billing cycle completes, your connection speed will be restored to original one.

Also Qubee website says that “Out of bundle charges Rs 0.11 per MB” but he said that there are no extra charges for the over usage for unlimited package but the over usage will result in the reduction in connection speed, as described earlier

Note:
<ul
